About Ellen Stuart Design

Our Story

Founder, Caroline Coffman, is an artist and designer in the greater Charlotte, NC area. She reflects on her design experience that traces back to her childhood, influenced by the creativity of her mother, Ellen, and grandmother, Caroline.

She started by staging and styling houses in 2019 in Birmingham, AL. Now, she resides in Belmont, NC with her husband, David, their son, Truett, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Charlie.

Meet Ellen Stephenson

Caroline's late mother, Ellen Stephenson, was a creative herself. Her great love of flowers shone through in all of her arrangements. She also had the keenest eye for interior design, she could set a table for a queen. Perhaps Ellen's greatest gift, and her legacy, was her love for people. She was truly adored.

Meet Caroline Stuart

Caroline Stuart was the mother of Ellen, and the grandmother of founder, Caroline Coffman. She was both lovely and grand. Caroline is the inspiration behind Ellen Stuart Design. She is our north star.
